We don't take returns or give refunds over taste, because chai is a food product and can't go back on the shelf. If your order arrives damaged or wrong, email hello@meriachai.com within 30 days with your order number and a photo, and we'll replace it or refund it. A chai latte mix is complete: the sweetener and powdered milk or creamer are in the powder with the tea, so you add water. Meria Chai is only black tea and six spices. You add the milk, and you decide on the sweetener, or none. To tell which kind you're looking at, read the first two ingredients: if they're sugar and milk powder, it's a mix.

Five of our six spices (cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove and nutmeg) come from Red Ape Cinnamon, which publishes per-lot heavy-metal test results at redapecinnamon.com/heavy-metal-testing-results. Black tea and black pepper come from separate suppliers. We don't test in-house; we rely on supplier documentation and can share the most recent on request.

Sweetener into the pitcher first, if you want any. Then the chai, weighed: 1.5 g for 8 oz, 2 g for 12 oz, 3 g for 16 oz. Then all the milk. Heat and froth the three together as one thing, the way we steam it at the café; at home a countertop milk steamer, a handheld frother, a hand mixer or a blender does it. For iced, do the same and pour it over ice. The spices don't dissolve, so heat and a hard mix are what keep them in the cup.

There is no sugar and no sweetener of any kind in it: no stevia, monk fruit, sucralose or erythritol, and no milk powder or filler either. The ingredients are black tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, clove, nutmeg and black pepper, all sourced organic. The finished blend itself is not certified organic.

Approximately 40-50mg per 1.5 g serving, varying with how much you use. That is roughly half a cup of coffee. Black tea naturally contains both caffeine and L-theanine.

A 50 g pouch makes 33 lattes at 8 oz (1.5 g each), 25 at 12 oz (2 g) or about 16 at 16 oz (3 g). The dose follows the cup, so the count does too. If you like it stronger you'll get fewer, and that isn't doing it wrong. At one 8 oz latte a day, a pouch lasts about a month.

Because we count what we actually put in a cup. A serving here is 1.5 g, and about a gram of that is freeze-dried black tea, which is roughly one cup of black tea's worth of tea. That is how the blend was built, and it is why an 8 oz Meria Chai tastes like tea with spice in it rather than spice-flavored milk. It's common in instant chai to quote a quarter-teaspoon serving, under a gram all in, which is how a pouch no bigger than ours advertises a hundred cups. Same math, smaller spoon.

Any milk works. Oat milk froths well and brings its own sweetness; whole dairy milk is the traditional choice; almond and coconut work too. It will work in water, but it is made for milk.

Yes. Pull the espresso into the cup, then heat and froth sweetener, weighed chai and milk together in a pitcher and pour it over the shot. The chai never touches water.

It is made with plant-based ingredients only: black tea and six organic-sourced spices. No dairy, gluten, nuts or animal products are added to the recipe. Our chai is produced in a shared facility that may also process other allergens, so if you have a severe allergy, email hello@meriachai.com before ordering and we will share the facility details.

Meria Chai is real black tea and six warming spices, including ginger, black pepper and cloves. Spices and caffeine can be a lot for sensitive systems. If you have a GI condition or are unsure, start with a smaller serving and see how you feel, and talk to your doctor about anything that concerns you.

It tastes bold and spiced rather than sweet, because there is no sugar in it. If you want it sweet, put your sweetener in the pitcher first; a teaspoon of honey is a good start, and you can use less over time if you like. Oat milk softens it too.

Yes. Add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon to oatmeal, smoothies, cookies, cakes, pancake batter or overnight oats. It is concentrated spice and tea, so it works anywhere you want chai flavor without adding liquid.
